What surprises will the combination of Business and Design bring? Yupont Headquarter Building won the Third Prize for the Urban Renewal Design in Beijing

 Recently, the renovation project of Yupont Headquarter Building won the Third Prize for the Urban Renewal Design in Beijing. This is not only recognition from the professional field, but also a vivid response to the question of ‘how design stimulates commercial vitality’.

 This renovation was personally led by Chairman Zhou Deqin, who collaborated with Shanghai Da Xiao Architectural Design Firm to jointly realize the revitalization and transformation of the old building. The exterior facade adopts iridescent perforated aluminum panels, which interweave with light, shadow and plants to create glossy textures that change with the four seasons—calm yet dynamic. This is just like Yupont development pace over the past nearly 30 years: advancing steadily while shining brilliantly.

 

 

 

 

 Li Yao, the chief architect of the project, holds multiple roles including Chief Chinese Designer of the new CCTV Headquarters, National First-Class Registered Architect, and Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Chartered Architect. His architectural language integrates an international perspective with local context. This precise grasp of aesthetics, materials, and temperament also coincides with Chairman Zhou’s high standards and refined taste for the enterprise’s spatial aesthetics.
